glasses1. Sunglasses

Buy a  good pair, not cheap ones. If you can afford to buy a good pair of polarized sunglasses, don’t skimp on this – they are much better for your eyes and you’ll be able to see under the water better. Polarized sunglasses cut glare and allow you to spend more time outside in the sun – cheap glasses can hurt you.

bullfrog2. Sunblock

Make sure and get the proper SPF for your skin type. I always put on spf 35 and over. Bullfrog is my personal favorite because it goes on well and dries quickly and lasts longer than most when you’re in and out of the water. it’s also a good idea to bring chapstick if you’re fairskinned like me… and for those looking for a major tan, oil.

hat1233. A great Straw Hat / Or a beach umbrella / straw hat is cooler.

look for a stylish one and one that is big enough to give your head and shoulders a good amount of shade, these can help you keep cool on the beach. Get one with a chinstrap for when the wind is blowing and you won’t be chasing it down the beach.

chair4. A good beach chair – cup holders a plus.

A good beach chair can make your day last longer and much more comfortable than going without one.

goggles5. A good pair of swimming goggles – clear ones allow you to see fish.

Good swim goggles are very underrated – but remember to bring them. You cannot possibly swim properly without a good pair of goggles. I recommend Kaiman Aqua Sphere swimming goggles.

beer16. A Cooler – Preferably soft.

Preferably filled with ice, beer, freshly made lime or lemonade and water – included in this should be plastic cups – not clear ones – avoid issues with police or security wherever you choose to go. Bonus if you can also bring along beer-cozies to keep them cold while you drink.

7.  A good beach towel – fluffy and soft.

For obvious reasons, towels can keep you much more comfortable at the beach.

8. A small plastic bag for protecting electronics and phones

For any items you don’t want getting wet or sandy – cellphones, blackberries, iphones, ipods… etc. Nothing sucks worse than a phone that isn’t working because you got sand in it, and if you get a phone in salt water, consider it history.

discraft9. A 175 Gram Discraft Frisbee

Accept no substitutes whatsoever, Whammo discs do not qualify, nothing flies like a discraft.

10. Garbage Bag or bags

Clean up after yourself – all of the cool people are doing it.

If you have all of these things – and it shouldn’t be too hard to get them together, you’re sure to have a good time at the beach.

Major bonus for bringing: A GUITAR
