Recently, I was hired to lead archival efforts for the Getz Archive, conducting on-site work at the Stan Getz mansion to meticulously gather, document, and archive a vast array of materials related to the legendary jazz musician’s legacy. This included handling hundreds of reel-to-reel tapes in various sizes, along with video tapes, audio cassettes, and identifying unique memorabilia opportunities. My efforts extended to photographing these items for preservation and ensuring they were professionally archived to maintain their historical integrity. Furthermore, I established a comprehensive web database to catalog these materials. In addition to this archival work, I wrote and edited the liner notes and story, with Monica Getz, for the re-release of the iconic album Getz/Gilberto, the Grammy Award-winning collaboration between Stan Getz and João Gilberto that revolutionized bossa nova and jazz fusion.
